About Archaeological Zone Oxkintoc

“The city of the three flint suns” is one of the largest and oldest in the Puuc region of Yucatán, it was an important point among the commercial routes of the peninsula and has the characteristic of having the earliest ball game in Yucatan.

With a large number of architectural complexes, among the earliest is the Canul. Another one that you should not miss is the Satunsat and the May Group, both with labyrinthine bottoms. The vegetation of the place will leave you amazed.

How to get

From Mérida take Federal Highway no. 180 that goes to Campeche, at kilometer 57 at the intersection take the direction to Muna and after 11 km (in Calcehtok) take the direction to the Calcehtok caves, 1.5 km later take the west branch and 4 km you will find the Archaeological Zone. The approximate distance from Mérida to Oxkintok is 74 km.
