About Chocotour
With nearly a century to produce chocolate thanks to Dr. Otto Wolter at Hacienda Light you can give a tour of his huge property of 50 hectares to understand the process of making a favorite food of man. The tour will show you from the cocoa farming system until workers producing handcrafted chocolate. On site is also the chocolate museum with old tools on display.
Costs
The Chocotour (approximately 2 hours) includes:
• Hiking in the cocoa plantation visiting the Ceiba, sacred tree of the Mayans.
• Factory tour (except for the 1 pm Saturday tour and any Sunday tours, as it is closed)
• Tasting of award-winning chocolates
• Production of artisanal chocolate in a stone mill
