About Santa María de la Asunción Parish
This Parish was built in the years from 1543 to 1673 by the Dominican friars. Inside it protects the Virgin of the Assumption surrounded by a gold-covered neoclassical altarpiece. In this parish the remains of Fray Lucero, one of the Dominican founders who made the Dominican route that extends the largest churches in the Mixtec area, are protected.
