Turtle sanctuary and natural habitat of birds, declared a National Park. Fishing and diving.With an area of 132 sq km, of which are occupied by several lagoons with mangroves and 10 different types of vegetation. There are boat trips to observe different birds mangroves and fishing in these waters. The tours usually include a stop to taste the local food and to visit a crocodile farm.
If you are traveling by private vehicle from Puerto Escondido, drive west on Highway 200 and take the detour to the community of El Zapotalito. The town of Chacahua is located at the western end of the National Park.
If you travel by bus from Puesto Escondido you can board a bus from the "Oaxaca Pacífico" lines "Estrella del Sureste" and "Estrella Blanca", which offer regular and direct runs to Santiago Jamiltepec and Pinotepa Nacional. On both routes, descend on the cruise, from where you can take a collective taxi to the town of Zapotalito. If you prefer, you can get to Rio Grande and take a taxi from there to El Zapotalito.
