About Huitziméngari Palace

Located in the main square is the oldest civil construction in Pátzcuaro being built in 1711 as the home of Don Antonio de Huitziméngari, a descendant of Caltzontzin, the last Purépecha emperor. Its construction is quite simple, but it is distinguished by the arches that surround the courtyard. Inside you can admire and acquire handmade objects made by Purepecha hands and even observe them while doing their crafts.
