Iztaccihuatl - Popocatepetl National Park
This famous mountainous natural area covers an area of 25.679 hectares and covers parts of the State of Mexico, Puebla and Morelos; the Popocatepetl and Iztaccihuatl are the second and third highest peaks in the country, icons of the Mexican landscape. The forest vegetation consists of pines, firs, Zacatones and various flowers. The fauna of this area integrate rabbits, skunks, squirrels, gophers, gray fox, bobcat, coyotes and whitetail deer. The Mountaineers, with the necessary skills, can climb the peaks, while visitors can not walk specialized mid-mountain or hiking, mountain biking, camping, or enjoy a picnic. The best months to visit is from November to March.
