In its beginnings a small chapel that served as a meeting place for the Catholic community of Carmen during the 18th century, burned down in 1850. In 1856 the construction of the church was completed as it is today: made of wood, stone and Sascab, under the original idea of Marine Officer Mateo Perry. Inside you can see beautiful stained glass windows, altarpieces carved in wood and oil paintings.
