About Revillagigedo Archipelago Biosphere Reserve
It has a rich diversity of flora and fauna that generates a unique set of biological and ecological processes. The connectivity between these islands is crucial for many species of sharks, also has the largest aggregation of giant manta rays, humpback whales visit the waters around the islands in the winter months. The site consists of Socorro Islands, Clarion, San Benedicto and Roca Partida Islet and the surrounding marine area. It is located in the Pacific Ocean about 800 km west of Manzanillo and about 400 km south of Cabo San Lucas. The diving is practiced to observe whale sharks, but also to see hammerhead sharks that are in Roca Partida Island between May and August.
