About Carnaval Cozumel

A tradition that turns Cozumel into days of intense fun, joy and fantasy, all framed by the magnificent beauty of the island and the warmth of its people.

With the crowning of all the kings, the largest Carnival in the Mexican Caribbean begins, with seven days of celebration for the whole family.

Here's what you'll enjoy each day:

1st day: It's dedicated to children, who dressed in spectacular costumes present their comparsas.

2nd night: "Comparsas Friday", in the Youth and Free categories with comparsas formed by schoolmates, coworkers or friends; they prepare their costumes and choreographies to compete for first place.

3rd night: The biggest day, with everyone celebrating in the streets full of music and colors. The comparsas show off their movements and costumes in the prepared dances. The dance begins very early, and at dusk, on the main street and the boardwalk, the first parade of floats and comparsas begins, giving away necklaces and candy to the people who enjoy their passage. At night, the first carnival dance begins, enlivened by the guest artist.

4th night: Second parade of floats and second Carnival ball.

5th night: Third Carnival ball, no parade of floats.

6th night: Last parade of floats and free outdoor concert.

7th day: The closing ceremony is with the burning of Juan Carnaval and the awards ceremony.

Come and share this party with the people of Cozumel!
