About Arrecife Alacranes National Park
It constitutes a protected natural area of great importance as it forms the largest coral structure in the Gulf of Mexico. It is made up of five islets: Isla Pérez, which is the largest of the group, Isla Blanca or Chica, Isla Muertos or Desertora, Isla Pájaros, and Isla Desterrada. The outings to visit this place to visit are from Puerto Progreso but you need a permit to enter any of the islands. You can do some activities such as snorkeling, diving and photography.
