A few kilometers from Tuxtla Gutierrez, this geological fault formed millions of years ago is one of the most spectacular works of nature. Its walls reach almost the thousand meters of height, and in them there are caves and waterfalls. There are also monkeys, birds and even crocodiles. You can travel the canyon by boat or, if you prefer solid floor, there are several viewpoints with facilities to camp or spend a picnic. If you like rappel practice you can hire the services of an operator, to descend the walls of the canyon.
1. Boat: in Chiapa de Corzo, at the pier to take the boat for a tour of the Grijalva River through the canyon.
The boats are 16 with 8 am to 5 pm.
There are different prices, and the duration of the tour is 2 to 3 hours.
2. Viewpoints: From the center of Tuxtla Gutierrez Route 69 will take you to the viewpoints on the Calz. the Gully to access.
The cost of access is $ 3 usd, from 8 am to 5 pm.
