Historical Museum of Acapulco with 12 permanent exhibition halls and one of temporary exhibitions. El Fuerte is the most important historical monument in the area. It was built in 1615 to avoid pirate attacks and is unique in its pentagon or star design, formerly a convent, hospital, jail and hostel. Through the rooms of the museum you will know the history of Acapulco from its first settlers to Independence.
